my best friend makes me laugh
she's there for me when i cry
she hides my obsessive infatuations
and then tells me why
she always picks up the phone
and listens to me whine
she lets me yak her ear off
and never charges a dime
she promotes my flighty whims
and compliments them with her own
i never want for anything
not even when i'm alone
for i know my best friend's there
without a thought or care
she's the truest friend i know
even as she stops the show
i wish her all the best on her special day
i know she'd do the same
these things i admire in her
the care, the thought, the grace
and most importantly, the where-with-all
to put up with my crap and dish it back, and
be my bestest friend, in the whole wide world
