  • July 5, 2005:  H.B. Huisinga sends back corrections for page proofs for Deracination.

  • June 21, 2005:  H.B. Huisinga receives proofs for Deracination.

  • June 10, 2005:  H.B. Huisinga submits Nails (short story) for consideration to the Madison Magazine Short Story Contest.  Winners will be announced in the November issue of Madison Magazine.

  • June 9, 2005:  H.B. Huisinga submits Little Black Camera, Donating Blood, What It Means, Life's Journey for consideration to the Wisconsin Regional Writer's Association's Jade Ring Contest in the categories of Short Fiction, Nostalgia and Poetry.  Winners will be announced in September.

  • May 24, 2005:  H.B. Huisinga receives word that Deracination will be available for purchase in September 2005!

  • May 16, 2005:  H.B. Huisinga submits Little Black Camera for consideration in Writers' Digest's 74th Annual Writing Competition.  Winners will be announced at the end of October.

  • May 12, 2005:  H.B. Huisinga participates in her company's Gallery night with Little Black Camera.

  • April 9, 2005:  H.B. Huisinga participates in the 24 Hour Spring Writing Contest hosted by the Writers' Weekly.   The Challenge:  Write an original short story in 24 hours.  While the story didn't place, it did get a Door Prize!

  • January 3, 2005:  The official contract for Deracination arrives.

  • October 1-2, 2004:  H.B. Huisinga participates in the 24 Hour Writing Contest:  The Plot Quickens hosted by the Wisconsin Book Festival.   The Challenge:  Write an original short story up to 1,500 words in 24 hours.

  • September 30, 2004:  Deracination sent to PublishAmerica for production.

  • September 3, 2004:  H.B. Huisinga website officially launched.

  • September 3, 2004:  PublishAmerica formally acknowledges Deracination on their website under "Author News".

  • August 27, 2004:  Photo shoot with Jonathan Kang.

  • August 13, 2004:  H.B. Huisinga website informally launched.

  • August 8, 2004:  PublishAmerica officially signs contract with H.B. Huisinga and enters into agreement to publish the debut novel Deracination.  Anticipated Publication Date:  On or before October 1, 2005.

  • August 1, 2004:  H.B. Huisinga begins writing Restoration.

  • May 29, 2004: H.B. Huisinga begins writing Deracination.
