Deracination,
H.B. Huisinga's First Novel to be Published
H.B.
Huisinga, author of "Deracination",
has officially signed a contract with PublishAmerica. Deracination,
which means to pull out by the roots or to displace from one's
native or accustomed environment, is the first in a series of
fictional crime novels involving Horus and Monet Quinn.
Horus,
a forensic anthropologist at the local University, affords his wife
the luxury of keeping her past secret from him. Rushing home
to find his wife in the hospital, he realizes it's her past that
brought them together five years ago and not a random act of
violence. Horus pushes Monet to reveal her past in an attempt
to stop the cyclic violence that surrounds her, but soon recognizes
that her facade of suburban bliss is what's stopping her from
letting him in. The fabric of their lives is unraveling before
him, and Horus finds himself on an inconceivable journey through the
dark realm of his wife's past that threatens their marriage and could
destroy his professional career along the way.
